Message From The Pro Shop
Gentlemen,
As the winter winds to a merciful close, I just wanted to update you on news and happenings at the course.
Initially, I’d like to invite all of you to stop in on the weekend of March 15 th & 16 th as the Pro Shop will be opening for the new season. I will be conducting a huge sale on all remaining inventory from 2007 with savings of up to 50% on many items. Also, the computer system will be up and running so this is a perfect opportunity for purchase your Golf ID’s and/or Season Passes. Thankfully, all our prices remain the same as 2007-
$25 for the resident ID
$350 for an adult season pass
$175 for a senior resident pass
$700 for an adult non-resident season pass
$350 for a senior non-resident season
(FYI- I’ve been told that the break even point for season passes is approximately 33 rounds so plan accordingly)
Secondly, the new automated time tee system will be activated on March 29 th for tee times on Saturday April 5 th. In order to use the automated system, whether internet or telephone, from 5:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. 7 days in advance, you will need a valid Golf ID or Season Pass. You will also need a valid credit card to use the system so please plan accordingly.
In regard to my staff, Mark Farrell, Brian Crocker and Joe Newbauer will be returning to staff the pro shop. Also, I’m pleased to announce that Melissa Bushka will be returning to manage many of my day to day operations. Thankfully, my outside staff will remain essentially the same. In regard to Steve Sokol, he may make a few brief appearances this summer, but will primarily be playing on the Tar Heel Tour in the Carolinas and the New England Tour.
In closing, I’d like to thank you all in advance for your patience as we initiate our new tee time system. I know it’s a drastic change for a lot of you, but I am quite confident it will be a success. As I’ve told many of you, we are not the first golf course to use automation; on the contrary we are one of the last. It’s worked well for them, so there is no reason it can’t work here.
I look forward to seeing you all soon and lets hope we have a great year.
