Dear Fellow Members:
The year of 2007 has come to an end. It was a busy year and very rewarding as well. We had much success with all of our weekend events as well as the “major” tournaments. We also crowned a new Club Champion, Frank Geiger.
Our club hosted the New England Public Links Tournament this year with great success. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate as the second day of play was rained out but fun was still had by all. Timberlin Golf Club won the event with Cody Palladino, also from Timberlin, taking medalist honors. I would like to extend the sincere thanks to all of the volunteers who donated their time and efforts. Without you, we would not have been able to put on a tournament of this magnitude.
Our second year with our new Pro Jim Alexander was as good as the first, if not better. His professionalism as well as his willingness to help out in any manner necessary was greatly appreciated. I also want to thank Brian Crocker for his efforts on our scoreboards which are second to none. I look forward to continued support from the entire Pro Staff in 2008.
My term as Club President is coming to a close. It has been an interesting two years and I have been proud to serve as your President. I want to thank the entire board for all of their hard work and support. I would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Ralph Butera. His support and guidance thru my two years has been immeasurable. Ralph may be a bit loud at times, but without him being there and doing all he does we would not have the Men’s Club we do. Thank You Ralph!
Lastly, in order to try and better serve our membership you will find an enclosed survey. I would implore each member to take a couple of minutes and please fill it out. The completed survey can be returned by mail with your membership renewal or returned in person at the annual meeting.
Our annual meeting this year will be held on Monday, January 28 at the Irish American Club on 74 Beach Road in Fairfield starting at 7:00PM. I hope to see all of you there.
