2008 H. SMITH RICHARDSON GOLF CLUB SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION ANNOUNCEMENT

Award

Each year the H. Smith Richardson Golf Club awards two (2) Four Year Scholarships paying $500 per year. Recipients of this Scholarship must remain in college in order to receive each of the four annual payments.

Eligibility

Any high school senior whose parent or guardian is a member of the H. Smith Richardson Golf Club or who is a junior member of the Golf Club is eligible for the scholarship. The completed application (with required attachments) and the

applicant’s official transcript of grades must be received by the Scholarship Committee no later than April 30, 2008.

Criteria for Awarding the Scholarship

The Scholarship Committee considers the following factors in making its recommendation to the Golf Club’s Board of Governors:

  1. Scholarship Record
  2. School and Community Activities; provide a list and detail of organizations and activities you have participated, both in and out of school.
  3. A 250-word essay describing a goal you hope to achieve in the next ten years and why that goal is important to you.
  4. The applicant’s involvement in golf or plans to pursue a golf-related career although not a requirement will be considered in the selection process.
  5. The Selection Committee may request an interview.
